Open Access Policy

1. Open Access Commitment

A‑JMRHS is a fully open access journal. All content is immediately and permanently available online without embargo to readers worldwide, free of charge to access, download, print, distribute, or use for any lawful purpose, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access.

2. Reader Rights

Users are permitted to:

  • Read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles.
  • Use articles for any lawful purpose, including indexing, data mining, text analysis, and educational use.
  • Share articles via social media or repositories with proper attribution.

3. Licensing

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Share a Like 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license), unless otherwise stated. This license allows:

  • Free access and sharing for non-commercial purposes.
  • Attribution to authors and journal required.
  • No derivatives or modifications permitted without permission.

4. Copyright

  • Authors retain copyright of their work.
  • Authors grant A‑JMRHS a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, archive, index, and distribute the article in all formats and media.
  • No publication fees (Article Processing Charges, APCs) are charged to authors or readers.

5. Archiving and Preservation

A‑JMRHS ensures long-term accessibility through:

  • Institutional repositories and journal server backups.
  • Participation in LOCKSSCLOCKSS, and Portico archiving networks.
  • Metadata deposited in DOAJGoogle ScholarPubMed Central (where applicable), and Crossref/DOI services.

6. Metadata and Indexing

  • Article metadata is openly available in standard formats (Dublin Core, JATS XML).
  • Full-text crawling permitted for search engines and indexes.
  • DOIs assigned to all articles for permanent linking and citation.

7. No Embargo or Registration

  • No embargo periods on any content.
  • No registration required to read, download, or access articles.
  • Print versions (if offered) may incur costs, but online content remains free.

8. Compliance

This policy fully complies with DOAJ inclusion criteriaPlan ScOAlition S, and open access mandates from major funders (e.g., NIH, Wellcome Trust, Gates Foundation). A‑JMRHS supports the global transition to open science and equitable access to medical research.
